The Provincial Science and Technology Centers (PSTCs) were created through RA 6959 on July 31, 1990 establishing PSTCs in every province of the country attached under the regional offices.

Region 7 has four (4) PSTCs stationed at the four provinces in Central Visayas, namely: Cebu, Bohol, Oriental Negros and Siquijor.
